New York, NY. Nov. 25, 2025, 2 p.m. - Two White Texas men are facing federal charges after allegedly plotting an invasion of a Haitian island, with plans to murder locals and enslave women and children, authorities announced today.
Gavin Rivers Weisenburg, 21, and Tanner Christopher Thomas, 20, were indicted on multiple counts, including conspiracy to murder, kidnap, and produce child pornography. The indictment reveals shocking details about their sinister plans to stage a coup on Gonave Island, off the coast of Haiti.
According to prosecutors, the pair conspired to purchase a sailboat, firearms, and ammunition, and even recruited homeless individuals from the Washington, D.C. area to join their “army.” They allegedly made detailed logistical and operational plans, learned Haitian Creole, and researched military tactics—one of them even enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to acquire relevant skills.
Authorities say the suspects also engaged in heinous criminal activity related to the production of child pornography. If convicted, they face life behind bars, with minimum sentences of 15 years for the child pornography charges.
The shocking plot was uncovered after law enforcement intercepted communications and uncovered their detailed plans to invade, murder, and enslave innocent victims on the island.
