CNN's Abby Phillip Returns After Brief Absence

NEW YORK, NY, February 18, 2025, 10:10 p.m. - Abby Phillip tonight is back on "NewsNight" after taking several days off, missing Friday and Monday.

Speculation about her absence followed a heated on-air clash with CNN commentator Scott Jennings, where they debated federal judges ruling against former President Donald Trump. Phillip's pointed rebuttal left many viewers buzzing.

The first night she missed, the tease from the preceding show didn't mention her absence, and the host filling in on Friday didn't acknowledge it either.
