Negros in NYC: Picture of the week

By Robert "Rob" Redding Jr.

NEW YORK,  June 2, 2017, 3 p.m. - Redding News Review today started a new feature of those clever people of color who walk the street of New York City.

It is this column's purpose to give voice to black people in the world's undisputed fashion capital. A fashion world that does not often acknowledge the beauty, innovation and creativity of black people.

This weekly feature will highlight at least one person of color for rocking the streets of New York with daring fashion. Much like the "Jet Beauty" has done for years and much like Bill Cunningham's street pictures before us.

Why the name "Negro", because as an artist that is what we call the color black. It is on the front of almost every tube of paint that you buy in an art store. We are obviously focusing on New York because of it being the center of new trends in fashion.

Now to the point, we found this beautiful sister walking the street near Times Square. She actually posed for us and we are all better for it.

Come back next week to see who we feature next!
