Black unemployment goes down

Dec. 2, 2016, Noon - The black unemployment rate declined halting a continued to increase, according to a just released jobs report by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The black unemployment rate was down to 8.1 percent reversing a two month increase, according to the department. The rate declines from highs in previous months of 8.6 and 8.3 percent.

 The white rate is half the black rate and down from 4.3 percent to 4.1 percent.

The overall unemployment rate was down from 4.9 percent to 4.6 percent, according to the report.
