Black unemployment continues decline

June 3, 2016, 9:30 a.m. - The black unemployment rate today declined for the second straight month, according to a just released jobs report by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The rate fell from 8.8 to 8.2 percent, according to the report. The rate had been as high as 9 percent in the previous months.

White unemployment rate was down from 4.3 percent to 4.1 percent.

The overall unemployment rate was down from 5 percent to 4.7 percent, according to the report.
