ATLANTA, Nov. 4,
2011, 9 p.m.
- The Rev. Jesse Jackson and Occupy
Atlanta today took over SunTrust
Bank's headquarters in downtown Atlanta, during a hastily put together protest.
Jackson, who has embraced the Occupy Atlanta movement, since he
came to town yesterday, brought a group of about 50 leading clergy to the bank
to protest foreclosures.
Occupy Atlanta's Tim Franzen said that he got a call from
Jackson's team at about 3:15 p.m. saying that Jackson wanted to hold a rally.
By 4:30 p.m., Franzen and about 50 others entered the bank's lobby and took a seat and sang
in an hour long protest.

Occupy Atlanta is planning to stage an even larger protest in
Woodruff Park Saturday night. Jackson has said that he will be unable to attend
that protest. Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed
has vowed that if protesters once again violate a citywide park closing
time of 11 p.m. on Saturday night they will be arrested.
Still, Jackson has
asked to spend the night with
Occupy Atlanta. It is unclear when that will be.
