The news of her show's discontinuation comes as
American Urban Radio Network's news director was let go earlier this
month.
AURN's radio programming reaches black consumers and markets
to urban America, according to its website.
AURN officials were not immediately available to comment at
press time.
Updated Aug. 29, 2011, 5:44 p.m. - On Saturday, Smith
apparently wrote on her Facebook page, "Lots of rumors going around about
me. Let me set the record straight. It's been said in the media that I am
leaving my show in September and am battling double breast cancer. This is not
true. I am leaving the American Urban Radio Network at their request. The
syndicators decided to discontinue carrying my show."
