ATLANTA, Aug. 25, 2011, 6:10 p.m. - Syndicated talk show host Bev Smith is said to be halting her award-winning talk show, two sources tell Redding News Review.

The show will be going away at the end of October, according to two sources.

The news of her show's discontinuation comes as American Urban Radio Network's news director was let go earlier this month.

AURN's radio programming reaches black consumers and markets to urban America, according to its website.

AURN officials were not immediately available to comment at press time.

Updated Aug. 29, 2011, 5:44 p.m. - On Saturday, Smith apparently wrote on her Facebook page, "Lots of rumors going around about me. Let me set the record straight. It's been said in the media that I am leaving my show in September and am battling double breast cancer. This is not true. I am leaving the American Urban Radio Network at their request. The syndicators decided to discontinue carrying my show."
