March 16, 2009, 12:45 a.m.  A source tells Redding News Review that "The Mo'Nique Show" is being yanked from the airwaves because the star was denied a new contract and proceeded to talk about it on the air.

"Her contract was not renewed," the source told Redding News Review.

Syndication One, which distributes the show, and Mo'Nique had said that she wanted to focus more on her career in television, film and comedy.

"I would like to thank my fabulous board of directors for their daily inspiration and feedback and Radio One for the opportunity to further my entertainment brand through radio," she was quoted at saying in a Syndication One news release.

Still, the story of her denied contract seems to be consistent with what appears to have been her last show on Friday when the comedian, according to the source, said that the choice was beyond her control and that listeners had not heard the last of her on the radio.

The show was pulled from some markets in the middle of her emotional rant, the source said.

Her show is officially scheduled to conclude on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Syndication One, which is a subsidiary of Radio One, was not immediately available to comment.
