BENJAMIN CHAVIS MUHAMMAD SAYS BLACKS MUST GET INVOLVED

Feb. 15, 2008, 2 p.m. - Benjamin Chavis Muhammad redefines community service in the upcoming issue of Upscale magazine.

       Chavis, who runs the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network along with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, tells the leading lifestyles magazine that the Black community is bigger than your block. He stresses that blacks should think about folks in the Caribbean, Africa and even South America.

       The magazine also places Emmy Award-winning actress Lynn Whitfield on its cover talking about the 25-year-anniversary of "Mama I Want To Sing."

     The March issue also includes: Pebbles, Martin Lawrence and Morgan Freeman, and a review of Erykah Badu's latest album.
