April 27, 2007, 11:30 p.m. - The great-great granddaughter of Madame C. J. Walker is scheduled to speak next month at the 4th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference & Expo being held in Augusta Georgia.
“This year’s event will be two days because we have two dynamic keynote speakers. A’Lelia Bundles, the great-great granddaughter of the Madame C. J. Walker, will speak at Monday evening’s banquet and Teresa L. White, Sr. V.P, chief deputy administrative officer for AFLAC, will Keynote the luncheon on Tuesday afternoon,” said Helen Blocker-Adams, who is organizing the conference.
Walker was the first black female millionaire. She began invented products to help black women manage their hair in 1905.

Blocker-Adams, of the HBA Group, Intl., said the theme of the conference, being held May 7th and May 8th at The Silver Palm, is “Pursuing Your Dreams.” Portions of the proceeds will benefit Heritage Academy, she said.
The "boutique style conferences are designed to allow participants to network, build relationships, offer information on how to start and/or expand a business, enhance careers, and receive the pampering and special attention women deserve," said Blocker-Adams.
