Farrakhan warns Republicans, Democrats

Feb. 25, 2007, 5:30 p.m. - Nation of Islam Leader Minister Louis Farrakhan today warned Republican and Democratic voters in their unwavering support of their country's push for "Democracy" abroad.
"You need a place where you can purify yourself from politics," said Farrakhan, in what sounded more like a recruitment effort than a final speech. "Democracy is no replacement for the rule of God."
In a near two-hour speech - billed by some as his last major address - the ailing 73-year-old assailed the Bush Administration's domestic policy in Iraq and Iran.
"You can not deny Iran access to [nuclear] knowledge," he told a crowd of thousands at Detroit's Ford Field.
He also called on Congress to impeach Bush.
"If you don't want to impeach him, censure him," he said. "But you have to get rid of [Vice President Cheney], Condoleezza [Rice], you have to get rid of the whole kit and caboodle."

He also denied that he was "anti-Semitic" and "anti-white".
"They have done this all in the hope that someone would rise up and kill me," he said.
He capped his speech by lauding efforts to ban the "N-word" and praised America.
"I have no delight in warning you in what you are facing," he said. "My heart is heavy. I don't want to see the prophesy fulfilled.
"My time is up, the final call can't last forever," he said. "I grieve for you ... Muslims and Christians, black people try to get to your families and if you are doing wrong by one another stop ... Try to get together because the prophesy is good for you."
