America's legal system lacks twenty-twenty vision

By Roy Miller, Esq.

Attorney at Law

Sept. 30, 2007, 10:20 p.m. -  America needs to take an eye exam. In the left eye, seeing the wrongs done by White America, things are a little blurry. In the right eye, seeing the wrongs done by Black America exceeds 20-20 vision. Disrespect in the judicial system is the result.

Around the world, in every country, in every society and in every group, two things have always been certain; those who demand respect have always been on the top and those who accept disrespect have always been on the bottom. Black America must have a zero tolerance for accepting disrespect.

Many racist, evil hearts in America are at war with God. Unfortunately, many with such hearts sit as judges, district attorneys, employers and police chiefs. The Jena Six situation exposed wicked hearts at war with God. This war is not limited to Jena, La., but exists in the shadows all across America.

In the United States of America, Black people have never been allowed to lift every voice and sing, when it comes to determining justice and education. The Constitution was designed by and written for White men. United States laws were made by and for White Men. Not Black men, Black women, White women nor any other race. Our laws are reflections of the hearts of White men, be they fair or racist.  A drastic change of heart has to take place, and I feel that God demands it. Black America is in the midst of an Abraham and Job experience.

Black America has never been compensated for the labor of our ancestors. White America wants to inherit the benefits passed on since slavery, but not the debt owed to heirs of Black Americans that have never been paid. Land ownership has passed on through the generations.  Control of the legal system has passed on through the generations.  Control of the government has passed on through the generations. Wealth from slavery and segregation has passed on through generations, but not the debt from slave labor.

Recent statistics show that out of 237 countries in the world, the population of Black America exceeds 205 of them. Countries smaller than the population of Black America have seats in the United Nations, yet Black America lacks a legitimate voice addressing concerns that specifically affect Black America. In the United States of America, we have more Black men imprisoned than the population of 81 countries in the world. Even after the Civil War and despite the criminal charges, America realized that incarcerating such a high percentage of their men would be devastating to its survival.  The Black economy in the United States is the 11th strongest economy in the world. We show great respect and spend projected trillion dollars to war against a country (Iraq), when their population is less that that of Black America. The integration effort in the United States was like a building half built, but never completed. Integration never reached the White House nor significantly reached the many racist courtrooms across America or the national Congress that makes the rules by which we all live.

God is in control and I feel that He is not pleased with the way that America has always placed Black America in a position of great disadvantage and starvation, yet required obedience to unequal justice. Where man’s truth ends, God’s truth begins. All of the words in every law book and the combined minds of men are still less than the power of God. Respecting God’s principles and demanding respect will heal all the ills that affect Black America.  If we open the curtain, God’s light will always shine through.
