WASHINGTON, March 01, 2006, 10:45 p.m. -
A black economics activist is organizing a series of class action work place
lawsuits on behalf of people who have lost their jobs because they could not
speak English.
"We are going to have a major class action suit in this country in the
workplace," told a radio host late last week. "You can not in an
English speaking country demand that people speak Spanish."
Ansaid many Latinos insistence to continue speak their own language "signifies
power" and is meant to make Americans and blacks in particular deal with them on

Any black person that can not speak Spanish is losing jobs in
California, Texas and Arizona, he told radio host.
He said he is also concerned about blacks students.
"This is an English speaking country," he said. "It is insulting for people to
mandate
that black kids learn Spanish when they can't even speak basic English ... You
got to learn
your own language first."
He is asking anyone who has lost their job due to being forced to learn Spanish
to call the Harvest Institute at 202-518-.2465.
