WASHINGTON, Nov. 06, 2005, 8:30 p.m. - Redding News Review has retrieved the deleted video of Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele last month attending a magazine launch party that featured nude women in body paint.

Steele, a devout Catholic with a degree in divinity, appears at the end of a recently posted and now deleted video of B Magazine's launch party calling the risqué event "a great moment."

"I am glad to be here a part of this launch," the Republican told the crowd just days before declaring his candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

The racy video was taken down less than a day after The Washington Times - which tucked a news brief about the video inside Monday's editions - made calls to the magazine and Steele.

A spokesman for Steele told The Times that he does not believe the governor knew the women would be there. Antoine Friend, the publisher of the magazine which tout's the slogan "life's a b" on it's T-shirts, agreed.

A woman answering phones at the magazine told Redding News Review the Web site's content is routinely changed at the start of each month.
