(WASHINGTON, 7:30 a.m. on March 09, 2004 Update: Sources tell ReddingNewsReview.com that Viacom's lawyers are reviewing what can and can not be discussed on the daily radio sex show, which may be reduced to weekends only....Station management still silent ....developing) !

WASHINGTON, Noon on March 07, 2004 - An Atlanta radio station has pulled a sex show due to heighten indecency scrutiny of such shows at Viacom/Infinity owned stations, sources tell ReddingNewsReview.com.

"The Pleasure Zone" hosted by Lacy Grant and Spirit, which aired from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday on WAOK-AM, is in limbo until Mel Karmazin, Viacom president and chief operating officer, gives station management the green light to resume broadcast, sources tell ReddingNewsReview.com.

A check of the station's Web site indicates the show is "on vacation for two weeks," in the middle of a critical ratings period for the none ranked station.

Station management was not immediately available for comment at the time this report was filed.

The show goes dark as fellow Viacom shock jock Howard Stern was pulled from Clear Channel stations in San Diego, Pittsburgh, Rochester, N.Y., Louisville, Ky., and Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Fla. on Feb. 25, because of his shows raunchy content.

Last week, Clear Channel paid a record $755,000 fine due to indecent material aired during the  "Bubba the Love Sponge" show.

The wave of self censorship comes as Viacom owned CBS-TV is being investigated by the Federal Communications Commission, due to Janet Jackson's breast bearing episode during the networks Super Bowl halftime.
